Edward W. Costa II, EdD

Biography

Dr. Costa has a Doctor of Education Degree from the University of Oklahoma in Education Administration, Curriculum and Supervision (EACS). He has a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from OU and his undergrad degree is in Music Education. Dr. Costa graduated from Brockton, MA High School. He has held the positions of computer teacher, band director, Principal, Executive Director and Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Costa has authored over 35 publications on education issues during his career and has been a frequent presenter and lecturer at state and national conferences.

Dr. Costa served 19 years as a public school superintendent and 27 years total as a public school administrator. He is the recipient of the MA State’s President Leadership award, the OK State Technology Award, and the MA State Technology Award.  He has served on many State Committees and is cited and published as a contributing author on SMART goals for the Massachusetts Educator Evaluation System. Dr. Costa currently serves as the Director of School Leadership Programs, the Director of Middle and Secondary School Educator Preparation programs for the AIC School of Education, and the Committee Chair for the Candidate Assessment of Performance for all initial licensure programs.
