Dr. Susan Henrichon, Ed.D.

Dean of the School of Education

Biography

Dr. Susan J. Henrichon serves as the Dean of the School of Education at American International College. In this role, she provides leadership, direction, and support for the School of Education at AIC.  She holds the position as Licensing Officer and is responsible for all endorsements through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).  Susan teaches at the doctoral and graduate levels with a focus on school leadership, particularly in the areas of personnel and law.  Additionally, she serves as a Senior Instructor/Program Supervisor in Moderate Disabilities.

Susan has spent more than 35 years working in public school setting primarily as a central office administrator and a district leader.  Susan holds licensure through DESE in numerous areas which include Superintendent, Administrator of Special Education, Principal, Special Education and Music Teacher.  She also holds licensure through Massachusetts Early Education and Care in the areas of Director and Lead Teacher.  During her public school career, Susan served as a Special Education Team Leader, Director of Special Education & Student Services, and Assistant Superintendent in districts throughout Central and Western Massachusetts.

Dr. Henrichon has been involved with several state and regional associations representing special education administrators and superintendents.  Dr. Henrichon provides consultation to school districts in supporting central office administrators and special education/at risk programs with a focus on evaluation and program development.   Her work focuses on building effective administrators/educators to meet the needs of today’s everchanging educational landscape
