Courtney Taylor, MS, OTR/L received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from American International College in 2014. Courtney’s clinical experience is in short-term rehabilitation within a skilled nursing facility. With the opportunity to work in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, she gained first-hand experience with upper extremity joint replacements, stroke rehabilitation, tone management, and patient advocacy. Courtney contributed to the implementation of a customized wheelchair program, re-evaluated and re-implemented a splinting/orthotic program and quarterly tracking system, and developed a system to streamline interdisciplinary communication within her workplace. Her research interests are in veteran affairs and the values of Generation Z and their effects on the future of the OT profession.
Courtney is excited to be returning to her alma mater where her focus will be building clinical affiliations throughout the country, enriching student learning and didactic coursework through clinical application, and facilitating student preparedness as they transition to entry-level practitioners.
