      GRADUATE PSYCHOLOGY

American International College's graduate study programs in psychology are based on a commitment to both intellectual freedom and personal integrity, and the important role they play to all people. AIC offers seven graduate study programs in psychology. View the information below, and contact us to see how AIC can help you achieve the career success you deserve.

      General Psychology (MA)

The master of arts in general psychology program prepares you for future graduate study through instruction in core competency areas, including abnormal psychology, human development, cognitive psychology, social psychology, and statistics and research methodology. This allows you to structure a program that meets your specific interests. Beyond these areas, you can choose to focus on more specific fields of interest, including forensic psychology, learning disabilities, or mental health counseling.

Program Delivery Format: Full-time or part-time options available. Each class meets one night per week for 15 weeks on our Springfield campus. All course instruction occurs through on-campus meetings.*

      Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MA)

AIC's master of arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is designed for students who wish to pursue a career as a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and similar professional designations in other states. Students within the Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program can elect to specialize in mental health or mental health with a forensic psychology concentration.

Program Delivery Format: Full-time or part-time options available. Each class meets one night per week for 15 weeks on our Springfield campus. All course instruction occurs through on-campus meetings.*

      Counseling Psychology (MA)

The master of arts in counseling psychology program is designed for professionals who want to qualify for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and related clinical practice. Using four major types of learning experiences (mentored study, practicum and internship, online courses, and residencies), you'll focus your studies on such diverse areas as counseling theory and practice, applied psychology concepts and principles, family and group therapy principles, biological bases of behavior, and professional orientation and ethics. And because this program is for busy, working adults, you'll be able to work at your own pace with faculty mentors, and, in some cases, even fulfill your internship requirement at your current work site.

Program Delivery Format: Full-time. Classes are delivered online where students will engage with their cohort and faculty in a variety of interactive formats. In addition to online coursework, students will attend on-campus residencies.*

      Forensic Psychology (MS)

AIC's master of science in forensic psychology program is designed for students who wish to research the applications of psychological principles to gain understanding into the functionality of the legal and criminal justice systems. Many graduates of this program anticipate pursuing doctoral or other graduate-level study in psychology, criminal justice, and related fields. By focusing on studies that provide a solid theoretical foundation in core competencies of general psychology, this program can help prepare you doctoral or other graduate-level study (or careers in) areas as diverse as forensic psychology, criminal justice, social services, and other mental health fields.

Program Delivery Format: Full-time or part-time options available. Each class meets one night per week for 15 weeks on our Springfield campus. All course instruction occurs through on-campus meetings.*
