About us

In December 2017, AIC launched Rex’s Pantry, a food and necessities pantry housed on campus, to benefit community members in need. The Pantry is a collaborative effort: food is prepared by Chartwells, the College’s dining services provider; campus vendors C&W Services and G4S donate essential items, including cold-weather wear and nonperishable foods; and volunteers come from all corners of the AIC community—students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends.

The Rex’s Pantry Garden – A vegetable garden to serve
the surrounding neighborhoods of Springfield

In June 2019, AIC’s Rex’s Pantry initiative, a food and necessities pantry housed on campus, introduced the Rex’s Pantry Garden, a vegetable garden to further serve the surrounding neighborhoods of Springfield. Volunteers from C&W Services, which provides the College’s grounds crew services, helped transform the formerly vacant lot at the corner of Maynard and State Streets into a functioning urban garden.
