Admissions Requirements

The MSN program accepts applications throughout the year, allowing individuals to begin their studies in any one of our fall, spring, or summer semesters. Decisions are rendered within 4 to 6 weeks of receipt of the completed admissions materials.

The following items will be required for admissions to the AIC MSN program:

  • Completed application
  • Payment of a non-refundable $50 application fee
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale preferred
  • Baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited school of nursing or RN degree with a baccalaureate degree in another discipline from a regionally accredited institution
  • Sealed, official transcripts of all previous academic work from a regionally-accredited institution. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for admission. Transcripts from non-US countries must be evaluated through a recognized evaluation service. We accept all evaluations from all active members associated with the NACES organization (
  • Copy of current RN licensure
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Sample of scholarly writing (300 words or one page on a topic of your choice. The essay will be evaluated for conceptual development, grammatical expression, and advancement of nursing practice.)
  • A one-page, typed personal statement highlighting why you wish to pursue this degree and how you will benefit, both personally and professionally
  • TOEFL scores for non-native speakers of English
