Biography

Professor Armentrout has been working in the clinical field as an FNP-BC for over 10 years, most recently in Adult Primary Care. Professor Armentrout accepted the position of Assistant Director of the FNP program in July 2020 with emphasis in providing graduate students a structured and inviting learning environment promoting care of patients from beginning to end of life. Professor Armentrout is a graduate of Springfield College, UMASS Boston and D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY. Professor Armentrout is also a veteran of the US Army Reserves.

Professor Armentrout has focused her clinical practice in areas of care involving multiple chronic co-morbidities, reducing polypharmacy, pain management and impact of caregiving for patients with advanced dementia. Professor Armentrout has recently been involved in a community based program, delivering care directly to patients and families in the home as well as the clinic setting.

Professor Armentrout has worked closely with FNP students in the clinical and community setting as a preceptor and will now be involved in administrative and teaching roles to support students in the FNP track at AIC.
