Timothy Allen, Ed.D

Associate Professor

Dr. Timothy Allen spent 22 years teaching and leading in public schools in Boston, the Bronx, Springfield, and East Longmeadow. The last 12 years he was a middle school principal. His passion is building the optimism, energy, and skill set needed to support students in today’s schools. He also focuses his work on developing the practical skills educators will need to thrive.

Dr. Allen is the Assistant Executive Director of the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS) and the host of the Teachers’ Cup of Coffee podcast. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Springfield Ballers non-profit youth organization, is a founder and board member of 16 Lyrics; a non-profit focused on promoting equity and anti-racism in schools, and delivers free CPR training in schools and the community through his #TimmyStrong organization. In his spare time, he coaches girls’ basketball at both the AAU and high school level.
