Darrell McSwain

Internship Coordinator for Grad. Psychology

Darrell McSwain Jr. graduated from Westfield State University in 2009 with a combined degree of Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice, with a general concentration in Philosophy. From there, while working in the Human Services field at various facilities, he earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology on the state Mental Health Counselor Licensing track from American International College in 2012. All throughout this time, Darrell has helped to serve the Western Massachusetts community via The Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, Hillcrest Educational Centers, and Community Services Institute, a local mental health clinic, for a tenure of 12 years. Further, Darrell is a state licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state for the past 6 years. In his current position with American International College, Darrell acts as an Internship Coordinator, Adjunct Faculty, and Academic Advisor in the Graduate Psychology Department. Darrell focuses his course curriculums around up-to-date information and theoretically driven skills to help guide his students toward a promising and rewarding career in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
