Robert Benard, MS

Associate Professor of Biology

I am interested in animal and plant structure, function and evolution, as well as interactions in ecosystems and with humans. Classification, conservation and diversity are also areas of interest.
I have worked on projects regarding black bear population dynamics, various mammal field surveys/counts, as well as some plant surveys in the field. In addition, I have worked on comparative anatomy studies of mustelids, such as fishers and wolverines. Museum specimen preparations are also an area of interest. Students who have worked with me on independent studies/research projects have worked on comparative anatomy of mammals and birds as well as various types of ecology, environmental science and wildlife projects.
