What do I need to have ready before I submit my application?

The application process for the Pre-Doctoral Action Research Program is not difficult, but does require thoughtful preparation and a careful review of all admissions materials submitted.

Get your application in order:

  • Work on your application answering questions about post baccalaureate colleges and universities attended, providing dates of attendance, degrees received, and conferred dates. In addition, you will be asked to provide your current and previous employer, and pertinent contact information.
  • Request transcripts from all post-baccalaureate schools you have attended.
  • Ask two individuals to write letters of recommendation. These individuals should serve as either an academic or professional reference qualified to highlight your academic/professional successes and suitability for mentored online study.
  • Polish and finalize your personal goal statement.
  • Submit your application.

When completing AIC's Online Application, please use appropriate upper and lower case characters throughout the application.

Once the application is submitted, you will receive an email acknowledging the receipt of your application. At this point, you will also receive your AIC ID; this serves as your primary identifier and will provide you with access to your application and the ability to register for classes and pay tuition.

No. If you obtained your master's and/or C.A.G.S. degree from American International College, the Office of Graduate Admissions will access your transcripts directly once your online application is submitted to our office. Therefore, there is no need for you to request a paper copy of your AIC transcript.

Otherwise, please order official transcripts to be sent to us directly from the Registrar's Office of your institution to the Office of Graduate Admissions (Contact Us link). Download a PDF of the Transcript Request Form.

You only require official transcripts for my master's degree?

Yes, an academic decision for the Pre-Doctoral Action Research Program will be rendered based on your master's level (and C.A.G.S., if applicable) coursework. If you have conferred both a master's and C.A.G.S. degree, please submit all official copies of your transcripts for your application. Download a PDF of the Transcript Request Form.

How do I use the American International College's Online Recommendation Form?

On AIC's Online Application form, you will be asked to supply the names of two individuals who will provide either a professional and/or academic recommendation on your behalf. You want to solicit those that are qualified to evaluate your academic and practitioner skills, as well as your suitability for mentored online study. Providing their email address will enable them to receive, complete, and directly submit the Online Recommendation Form to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

On the form, you will be asked to "Waive Access" - You may elect to maintain an open file which permits you to inspect our correspondence from the person names as your reference. If you wish to waive your access to such correspondence you may do so by clicking "yes".

What if the person that I've asked for a letter of recommendation prefers to mail their form?

In order to expedite your application, it is best to utilize AIC's Online Recommendation Form.
