Student Success Advising

The Student Success Advisors work closely with first-years, sophomores, and incoming transfer students to explore all aspects of their academic journey through a collaborative mentoring relationship.

AIC’s Student Success Advisors are here to:

  • Assist with course selection and registration
  • Help students explore and choose a major and minor(s)
  • Connect students with campus and community resources
  • Support successful academic progress each semester
  • Help students develop and achieve academic and career goals

As a student transitions into their junior year, they will be assigned a faculty advisor who will assist them in the remainder of their academic journey to help prepare them for graduation. The Student Success Advisors will continue to be available to help juniors and seniors navigate all aspects of registration and connect students with campus resources.

Students who are on academic probation and/or have been notified of not reaching Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) need to meet with their academic advisor and complete the academic improvement plan contract.

Faculty Advisors for juniors and seniors:

  • Assist with course selection and registration
  • Help students stay on track for degree completion and graduation
  • Support a student’s professional network development

About me

I spent 20 years in law enforcement and love my family and sports. I have a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Southern Vermont College and am in the process of completing my M.S. in Sports Leadership and Coaching at Western New England University. I played baseball and basketball in college where I was a two-year captain for baseball and an All-Conference and D3 Northeast Region selection for baseball. I previously coached baseball here at AIC and was an advisor for student-athlete success. I have four college-aged children (three are triplets) and I understand the support needed to help students have a positive educational experience. My wife and I enjoy road trips and bike rides and love spending time with our family including our two Newfies, Tank and Kimber. I am a lifelong New England sports fan and listen to a wide range of music.

About me

I’m from Lowell, Massachusetts and I now live in West Hartford, Connecticut. I received my B.S.E. From the University of Hartford and my M.Ed. at Merrimack College. I’m a big Boston sports fan! Specifically, I like watching football and basketball but I played Ultimate Frisbee and Rugby when I was in college. I like to stay active but on my downtime I love to listen to music or watch movies and I’m always open to new suggestions. I have always loved dogs but I recently got a cat named Tortellini!

Programs I advise: First Year – Emerging Scholars

About me
I am Christopher Dias; I was an undergraduate at AIC and hold a Bachelor of Science in both Public Health and Exercise Science. My hobbies include working out and traveling. Currently I’m pursuing my master’s in public health, and I have a passion for helping others and learning everyone’s story. I usually keep busy because I don’t like to sit still, but when I do get downtime, I seemingly disappear off the face of the earth. Feel free to stop me if you see me around and you have a question about college life or anything beyond, chances are if I don’t know it, I will be able to direct you to someone who will. Somewhat of a developing networking guru.
