Following an eleven-game winning streak, AIC D-I men’s ice hockey has won the Atlantic Hockey Conference Championship for the second consecutive year. Reporter Ron Chimelis with The Republican newspaper recently covered their story. Chimelis’s question:
“When does an underdog team shed the ‘Cinderella’ label and gain unequivocal acceptance? AIC’s ability to position itself for another regular season Atlantic Hockey title goes a long way in convincing the hockey community that, given the program’s past, 2018-19 was remarkable – but not a fluke.”
Click here to find out why Chimelis answered his initial question with the following statement: “The Yellow Jackets continue to push the forlorn nature of their program’s past into irrelevance.”
Go, Yellow Jackets!
