Higher Ed and Higher Hopes!

On a brilliant and blustery fall morning, student Aidan O’Donoghue was enjoying a quintessential freshman experience in the newly renovated dining commons. He gobbled down a salad, a glass of chocolate milk, and two cookies while making a new friend, a fellow freshman, inviting him to play Ping-Pong. Not long ago, the simple pleasures of campus life would have been out of reach for Aidan because he has Down syndrome. But through the College Steps program, in its second year at AIC, 19 year old Aidan is one of 10 students with intellectual disabilities who are an important part of our college community.

Life lessons for everyone.
