A Helping Hand

AIC Campus Police Captain David Standen receives an award

G4S is the world’s leading international security solutions group and is the provider of campus security services for AIC. G4S operates across six continents in more than 100 countries and employs in excess of 600,000 people. G4S North America employees more than 56,000 individuals.

In a recent awards ceremony, G4S recognized 21 outstanding employees from across the country for their service and commitment to company values including teamwork and collaboration, customer focus, expertise, performance, integrity, and safety first in 2015. And one of those recognized is right here serving our campus community every day.

Among those honored for performance was Custom Protection Officer Omar Aljanabi, who lives in Springfield. In March 2015, while on foot patrol, Officer Aljanabi observed a vehicle crash and heard a man yelling for help. He radioed campus police dispatch to call the Springfield Police Department while he ran to offer assistance. The driver informed Officer Aljanabi that passengers in the vehicle had suffered serious personal injuries.

Officer Aljanabi’s quick reaction to this situation and his immediate response to provide aid in an unknown emergency scene demonstrated his courage and professionalism.

Congratulations to one of AIC’s Finest!
