American International College (AIC) is pleased to announce a guaranteed admissions initiative to qualified students, reaffirming the College’s dedication to expanding access and opportunities to higher education. Starting in the Fall 2023 semester, AIC will introduce its Guaranteed Admission Program, designed to ensure a fair and transparent admissions process for students who meet eligibility requirements.
Considering recent developments related to race-based admissions practices, AIC acknowledges the significance of implementing programs that promote equal opportunities for all applicants. This entails removing barriers to ensure that every qualified student has an opportunity to pursue their educational aspirations.
Under this admissions program, first-time full-time freshmen applying to AIC will receive an assurance of admission, provided they meet certain eligibility criteria. Prospective students must be in good standing at their secondary institution and fulfill academic requirements from a regionally accredited high school within the United States or a United States territory to be eligible.
Additionally, all newly admitted full-time students will be eligible to receive a merit award of up to $27,000 a year. These scholarships are designed to bridge the financial gap between the overall cost of attendance and any assistance provided through need-based financial aid. Merit aid is granted based on outstanding academic achievements rather than financial need.
Kerry Cole, the vice president for Admissions at AIC expressed, “While the college admissions process can seem intimidating, it doesn’t need to be that way. AIC is committed to transparency around admissions to ensure that a college education is accessible to everyone. At AIC, we believe that every student can achieve success in an environment where each individual feels they belong. Our new guaranteed admissions program aims to facilitate this journey.”
The new admissions criteria set by AIC aim to ensure that all students who demonstrate potential and ambition are granted equal access to the College’s exceptional education and inclusive campus environment. These requirements encompass a holistic evaluation of an applicant’s academic achievements and personal qualities. Prospective students who meet the specified criteria can now confidently embark on their application process to American International College, knowing that their dedication and accomplishments will be valued and rewarded. Prospective students who do not meet the guidelines may still be admissible to AIC and will undergo the standard holistic review process outlined in the College’s Undergraduate Course Catalog.
