AIC’s hockey program stepped up from Division II to join the Division I Atlantic Conference in 1988-99. Since alumnus Eric Lang ’98, ‘08 took over as head coach three years ago, the program has made notable strides, while at the same time moving its home games to downtown Springfield’s MassMutual Center.

A previous single season record set by sophomore goaltender Mark Buckley during the 1987-1988 season is being challenged now by Zackarias Skog, a junior who came to AIC from Gothenburg, Sweden.

MassLive: AIC’s two remaining games put spotlight on junior goaltender

AIC Ice Hockey hosts Sacred Heart University in its regular season finale this first weekend of March. The hockey program has solidified the #1 seed in the upcoming Atlantic Hockey Conference playoffs and has secured at a minimum, a share of the regular season conference championship.
