Founded in 1940, American International College's Model Congress is the oldest congress of its type in the nation. The program is completely student run, from program development, coordination, hospitality, and the organizing and facilitation of legislative sessions. With the strong support of the college staff, students have kept the program thriving and an ongoing opportunity for high school students throughout the Northeast for over six decades.
Several scholarships are awarded each year to the most outstanding delegates of the Congress. We are preparing for the 74th Model Congress as we speak! In January of this past year, high school students from the Northeast met to simulate American government. Talented students wrote and debated their own legislation in addition to obtaining hands on experience with the system of checks and balances. The three days provided a practical educational experience while stimulating and challenging students to take part in the American system of government. Delegations interested in participating in the 74th Model Congress, are invited to contact Marguerite Pratt at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and register at the link above.
