Move-In Day & New Student Orientation

Move-In Day

New students are encouraged to sign up to drop off belongings in advance between August 14 –August 16. All local students coming from within a 30-mile radius of campus are required to utilize the early drop-off option. Students who are dropping off their belongings should report directly to their Residence Hall for their early-drop off time slot. New students who drop off belongings will not be permitted to remain in housing at that time but may return to their residence hall on August 21, 2020 between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. New students returning to campus on the morning on 8/21 will need to first report to the Griswold Theatre Lobby in the Karen Sprague Cultural Arts Center to participate in a COVID symptoms screening and to pick up their key and student ID. New Student Orientation begins during the afternoon of August 21, so it is important that students plan their arrival accordingly.

New students who are unable to move belongings in early will be able to move in between August 18 –August 20 and remain. These time slots are limited. Priority for these days will be given to international and out-of-state students. If possible, it is important that you move in your belongings into the residence hall in advance to decrease the number of students moving in during this time.

All residential students will pick their key up from the Griswold Theatre on their scheduled move-in day. Please park in the “I” Lot on the corner of Maynard and State Street and enter through the Griswold Lobby. For full Move-In Day Logistics visit

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation will begin on the afternoon of Friday, August 21 and will be a mixture of remote synchronous (live) sessions, online training modules, and in-person outdoor events following Massachusetts safety protocols and guidelines for physical distancing.

Students are encouraged to attend as many orientation sessions as possible, but attendance on campus is not mandatory. All required sessions and training modules can be completed remotely and will be communicated to students through their AIC e-mail.
